Termite living habits


Termites can be divided according to the place and habits of living into two groups: The first group: Terrestrial terrestrial and divided into three sections.1 Underground terrestrial. 2- The land of castles. 3- The agricultural land. The second group: Wood parquet, divided into two parts: 1. Dry wood parquet. 2. Wet wood floor.


Termite feeding


Termites feed on cellulose or the materials made of it, attacking houses built of bricks as well as cement. Floor or walls such as cupboards, stored materials, fabrics, wooden doors and windows, and others. In the case of concrete buildings, it attacks the wood of doors, windows, wooden furniture, and parquet floors, by penetrating the concrete barriers. It also attacks books, papers, records, cardboard, clothes, rugs, and others.


Symptoms of white ant infestation


The presence of mud tubes on the walls and windows starting from the ground and extending to the source of the infection. • Furnished mats and mats sticking to the ground and when they are removed, they rupture, and traces of ant eating appear from ants and the presence of parts of the soil in the place of erosion. • Eats wood adjacent to the wall, such as wheels, etc., and windows, doors, and ceilings made of tree trunks. • The erosion of the floors made of wood (parquet) and when removing it, the soil of the eating place is seen.


Termite danger


Termites are considered one of the most dangerous insects in terms of their destructive effect, as they attack wooden doors, furniture, kitchens and any materials made of cellulose, as they destroy all the contents of the house.


preventive measures


Surface treatment: It takes about 24 to 48 hours after burial and compaction and before pouring the cement (cleaning casting) by spraying the area equipped with the spray solution prepared for the prevention of termite pests.

Treatment of the bottom of the bases: after carrying out the work of the bases and foundations, by spraying all surfaces with solutions

Vertical treatment: It takes place around the entire building by digging a connected earthen trench with a width of 30 cm and then spraying the soil with which the trench is to be filled with the solution prepared for that.

If the infection is confirmed, the following steps can be followed:

The building is treated from the outside by implementing a certain method so that an external barrier is formed for the building

Treating the building from the inside by implementing a certain method so that an internal barrier is formed for the building.

To treat furniture and woodwork such as doors, windows, etc., which may contain the entire colony, it is well sprayed with the pesticide solution.

Any openings in the building such as partitions, around water pipes and the like are sprayed with a pesticide solution

All preventive or curative control operations are carried out under the supervision of specialized engineers and by the implementation of technicians with long experience in this field
